You may have seen Peter Answers described as both a soul search engine and a virtual tarot. So which is it? What does a soul search engine even mean? In my research to learn more about this online game I have learned that when Peter Answers was originally made it described itself as Peter Answers, The Soul Search Engine. At some point in time the makers of the game decided to change the name from a soul search engine to a Virtual Tarot.
Now this is confusing to me. This is the definition of Tarot according to Dictionary.com:
any of a set of 22 playing cards bearing allegorical representations, used for fortunetelling and as trump cards in tarok.
So What is Peter Answers?
So I understand the relationship, but frankly I would think that Peter Answers would be better described as a Virtual Fortuneteller. Because that is really what Peter is doing, he is telling our fortune. So I am not sure why they describe as virtual tarot.
I actually prefer the original name of Peter Answers, The Soul Search Engine. That is because rather than entering a search, or a question, in Google you are entering your question (remember, in Peter Answers it is called a Petition) for Peter to respond with an answer. He really isn’t telling a fortune, he is actually answering a question. He is looking into your soul.
That is why I believe that Peter Answers is a Soul Search Engine.

It is a prank, you should not take it more seriously then that, because that is the only thing we wanted it to be.
