Virtual Tarot Reviews

I have written many times about the top two virtual tarot programs out there - Peter Answers and Ask Jud, but those are not the only choices. There are other sites that handle fortune telling in a slightly different manner - something more inline with actual tarot readings. If you are looking for free tarot readings then you should read this article where I will review my two favorite ones at this time.

First up is Madam Nabahat’s Virtual Tarot. When you visit this website you will first notice it is very simple, and it is not even immediately obvious that there is a fortune teller there. Look carefully, for there is a button labeled “Start Tarot Session” which is what you need to press to begin. Once you do that a spread will be presented with tarot cards that have a very loud and obnoxious back color. You then click each link to read the cards. Here is an example of what my first card said:

Two of Swords
In the picture on the 2 of Swords, we see a young woman who has put up a barrier of swords across her heart. Her rigid, uptight posture tells us of her struggle to keep her feelings under control while fending off any approach from the outside. “Nothing comes in, and nothing goes out,” she seems to say. The 2 of Swords is all about the barriers we put up between ourselves and others and those we create within ourselves. Internally, we block off our emotions and refuse to feel them. We avoid looking at the truth and pretend to ourselves that everything’s OK. We think one way, but feel another. In countless ways, we divide off parts of ourselves and try to maintain them all even when we know they need to be reconciled. In readings, the 2 of Swords often appears when you are not willing to accept some truth about yourself or the situation. What are you *really* feeling? Are you resisting tender, loving feelings because you might be hurt? Are you furious even though you’re putting on a happy face? What are you refusing to look at? Are there little hints that something is wrong, but you downplay them? Is there a nagging problem you know you should take care of, but don’t? Notice the blindfold on the woman in the picture. She refuses to see the truth or even acknowledge that there is trouble. The 2 of Swords can also indicate barriers between you and others. The most common one is a closed heart. When we “cut” ourselves off emotionally, it literally feels as if we have severed the connection that allows our love, affection and sympathy to flow outward. Sometimes this action is necessary, but it always comes at a great price. Every time we close off our heart, we find it more and more difficult to open it again. Another barrier between people is a deadlocked situation. When two parties are so set in their positions…so “cut” off from each other, a stalemate exists. To break the deadlock, the “opponents” must come out from behind their swords and be willing to listen to each other. The lesson of the 2 of Swords is that barriers are not the answer. We must stay open if we are to find peace and wholeness.

One of the features that I like about this website is that you have the option of sending your spread for a personal reading. Overall, not a bad place to have your fortune read.

The other virtual tarot I would like to point you to is here. This one is really simple but it is also nice in that you see the spread right away. What I don’t like about it is that is not obvious that it is a new spread every time. It looks to the outsider as the same spread. You click the card position to see your card, then click again to see the interpretation. Here is an example from my spread:

20 JUDGMENT - Transformation

Final decision, judgment, sentence. Determination of a matter without appeal on its plane.

An angel summons men from their graves. The figure appears to be offering atonement for past mistakes and the possibility of a new beginning. Misdemeanours are being exposed and absolved, allowing sinners to be transformed and to live their lives on a higher plane of existence

This card calls for self-analysis. It suggests that if you examine your faults and weaknesses, awareness of them will transform you and make you more sympathetic, less resentful and therefore more humanitarian. Perhaps you need to forgive and forget; bitterness can be a canker of the spirit. Be careful that no one is taking unfair advantage of you, but also be honest with yourself, consider your own actions. These may be adversely affecting other people. If this is the case, the consequences are not irremediable. The symbolism of ressurection in this card indicates a second chance.

So you can see that there are other more advanced options for getting a free tarot reading than Peter Answers and Ask Jud. Give one of these a try!
